Wavelength separation

    Quick question: Why is there a spectrum separation in this picture for both the galaxy below and the one above (I am not sure what the top signal is)? To top is red-hued, while the bottom is blue. Is it an optics issue or does it have to do with wavelength speeds?

    That is indeed an optical artifact
